Abandoned Schools in Indiana: One-Room Relic in Noblesville

Abandoned Schools in Indiana: One-Room Relic in Noblesville
Decaying architecture tells a story enticing to many photographers. The sense of mystery imagining the whos and the whats.
I enjoyed taking pictures of this building, but it had a definite creep factor. The structure itself is beautiful, but this was one place I wouldn’t step inside.
The Noblesville, Indiana Chamber of Commerce confirmed, “It is one of the schools Charles Zeis had built in the 1890’s when he was township trustee.”
The building sits forlornly on the corner of two country roads, surrounded by cornfields. Otherwise, silence.
This old building (school?), sits forlornly on the corner of two country roads, surrounded by cornfields. The wind whispers through the fields, and through the windows. An occasional car whizzes by in the distance.
Otherwise, silence.

Now, this one-room school sits quietly against the cornfields, watching over the rural streets of Noblesville.
It’s empty, yes, but if you stop and look, you can almost hear the faint echoes of a life that once filled its walls. Photographing it felt like listening to a story left behind, and I hope these images let you see and feel a little of that too.

Exploring With Care: Photography Notes
***IMPORTANT: Most places prohibit trespassing, for legal reasons. For SAFETY reasons. Zoom lenses are critical. I urge you to gain permission before photographing places of ruin. The floors, walls and ceilings might be unstable. There could be dangerous chemicals, depending on the facility. You might not be alone, and in danger.
